The June Wyandotte County Third Saturday Democratic Breakfast meets Saturday, June 16 at The Woodlands, 9700 Leavenworth Road. This month our speaker will be Jason Kander. His topic will be "On the Ground in Afghanistan: An Inside Look at US Intelligence Operations in the War on Terror."

Jason is a First Lieutenant in the Army Reserves, serving as a military intelligence officer. He recently returned from Afghanistan, where he was stationed as the political-military intelligence officer for all US forces there. Before he was called up for active duty, Jason founded the Heartland Democrats of America with his wife. He is presently an attorney and a candidate for the Missouri House of Representatives.

A buffet is available at 8:15 am and the program begins at 9:15. Cost for the buffet is ten dollars, which includes tax, service and tip; seven dollars for students and those with limited income.

We had 60 Democrats attend last month's breakfast. KCK Mayor Joe Reardon spoke about the progress going on in Wyandotte County. Commissioner Mike Kane's enthusiastic introduction of the mayor should also be noted.
