Lend A Hand
National Public Lands Day
Shawnee Mission Park

9:00 AM to Noon

Plan to join us at a working celebration of one of our region’s most treasured parks: Shawnee Mission Park in Shawnee and Lenexa, Kansas! Staff and volunteers from Bridging The Gap’s affiliates will work with Johnson County Park and Recreation District staff and other community volunteers to clean and beautify the park. These projects will provide valuable support to the major capital improvements currently underway throughout the park.

Volunteers may help with the projects below, or help run the event, or both!

Kansas City WildLands will conduct a workday to remove woody invasive plants at the park's Ogg Road Prairie
Keep Kansas City Beautiful will clean up litter around Shawnee Mission Park Lake
Heartland Tree Alliance will provide tree care to trees in the park
