CONCERNED ABOUT IRAN? DON'T MISS THIS. PLEASE BRING FRIENDS:
The Columbia Peace Coalition is bringing two major speakers to town
this Friday, Feb. 15. We strongly encourage you to attend and would
love it if you could help us spread the word. They will be speaking at
7 p.m. in MU's Middlebush Aud. This is on the SE corner of 9th &
University. For those driving, there is plenty of free parking in the
Hitt St. Parking Garage just a block or so away.
Stephen Kinzer and Trita Parsi Ph.D are coming to "present the public
with an alternative perspective to the predominant view on Iran found
in Washington and the national media."
Kinzer was a New York Times correspondent for 20 years, has covered
more than 50 countries on five continents and written several books on
U.S. policy in the Middle East and Latin America. The Washington Post
called him "among the best in popular foreign policy storytelling."
His 2003 book about the legacy of the U.S.-sponsored coup against
Iran's democratic government in 1953, "All The Shah's Men," was just
reissued by Wiley & Sons with a new foreword, "The Folly of Attacking
Iran."
Trita Parsi, Ph.D is President of the National Iranian American
Council and author of Treacherous Alliance: The Secret Dealings of
Iran, Israel and The United States . This event is being sponsored by
the Columbia Peace Coalition and is part of Just Foreign Policy's
national tour, The Folly of Attacking Iran
(www.justforeignpolicy.org/iran/tour.html).
Please don't miss this opportunity to hear these two highly
informative speakers.
