An all day event bringing together DFA folks from all parts of Eastern Kansas and Missouri to help us better coordinate and organize our activities and structure to Take Back our State.

Jim Dean and other National DFA staff will be on hand and we plan to invite Statewide office seekers to come meet the grassroots from all over the State.

Following the meetings and speeches we plan an evening social event to cap off the day.

Wyandotte County Third Saturday Democratic Breakfast meets at The Woodlands, 9700 Leavenworth Road. Speaking this month will be Governor Kathleen Sebelius.

A buffet is available at 8:30 am and the program begins at 9:15. Cost for the buffet is ten dollars, which includes tax, service and tip; seven dollars for students and those with limited income.

We had seventy-eight Democrats attend our July breakfast to hear Paul Morrison speak. Congressman Dennis Moore made a surprise visit and introduced the next Kansas Attorney General.

Being a peace activist can be frustrating, depressing, enraging. An activist may beecome the target of counter protesters' anger and frustration and find it difficult not to respond in kind.

Being an effective activist for peace can also be infinitely rewarding and can transform the activist's life in deeply meaningful ways.

Being an effective activist means we must deal with angry people and deal with our own anger. Anger can be a source of energy, but it can also be a force which causes us to lose control and prevent us from accomplishing our goals.

The workshop will help participants understand their own and other's anger and introduce tools to deal with anger constructively.
