The Declaration of Peace March will begin at 3:00pm (gathering at the Fountain at 2:45pm) and will include a march around the Plaza Art Fair with the components of the Missouri and Kansas Eyes Wide Open exhibit. March participants will carry: 73 pairs of combat boots, each tagged with the name of a Kansas or Missouri service person killed in Iraq; 50 pairs of shoes representing the fifty times as many Iraqi civilian who have perished in the war and occupation; signs explaining the human and economic cost of the war and flag draped coffins. Our intent is to remind attendees of the Plaza Art Fair of the cost of the Iraq war and invite them to join our call for Peace. | ||
