The August Wyandotte County Third Saturday Democratic Breakfast meets this Saturday, August 18 at The Woodlands, 9700 Leavenworth Road. This month our speaker will be Kansas Attorney General Paul Morrison.
The Attorney General is a 1972 graduate of Washington High School.

A buffet is available at 8:15 am and the program begins at 9:15. Cost for the buffet is ten dollars, which includes tax, service and tip; seven dollars for students and those with limited income.

The Cass Co. Central Democratic Committee meeting will be held Thursday, August 23, at 7:00 pm at Partner's Restaurant in the Mill-Walk Mall. Dinner will be served from 6:30 to 7:00 pm for $10 per person and the meeting will follow. The featured speaker for August will be Paul LeVota, newly elected Minority Speaker of the Missouri House of Representatives. He will speak about the upcoming 2008 legislative session and how important it will be to get more Democrats elected in 2008. Everyone is invited to attend and bring a friend.

Cass Co. Assessor Curtis Koons (D) announced last week that he will be stepping down as Assessor and taking a job in Kansas City. A reception will be held for Curtis on Monday, September 10 at The Galvez on the Harrisonville Square from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. All are invited to attend.

Dr. Roy was a congressman from 1971 to 1975, representing the Kansas Second District, which included the western half of Wyandotte County at the time. Tom has been the Kansas Alcoholic Beverage Control Director for the past five years. He served as Wyandotte County Register of Deeds for 28 years.
